The Physics Department at North Carolina State University offers
two merit scholarships for incoming freshman.
The Hubert Owen Scholarship and the Nancy Chung Scholarship are
both $1000 freshman-year-only awards. It is required that
a recipient be a full time enrolled student majoring in Physics. The awards
are made on the basis of academic merit and the potential for the recipient
to succeed in obtaining a degree in Physics.
There are additional merit and need-based scholarships available in the
department for majors beyond the freshman year.
All applicants for the NCSU
Merit Awards program are automatically considered for these scholarships.
