Congratulations to Yuriy Mishchenko, recently was selected for the travel award to the IV Latin American Symposium in Mexico City, Mexico, on Nuclear Physics by the student sponsorship program. Yuriy and Cheung Ji recently worked together on a paper on "Nonperturbative Vacuum Effect in the Quantum Field Theory of Meson Mixing" which is to appear in Physical Review D.
Norton Anti-Virus Software is available to NC State faculty, staff, and students, staff FREE, for use on campus or at home, from the Computing Resources web site at www.ncs.ncsu.edu.
Office of Legal Affairs: Law Modules. Beginning this fall the Office of Legal Affairs will offer a series of Law Modules for the faculty and administrators. The law modules will cover Civil Rights, Business Transactions, Employment, Risk Management and Research issues relevant to higher education.

Certification of faculty and graduate student effort: TEARS Effort reports need to be filled in by 9/30/01. If you received a pink effort form, please log on to the computer as per the instructions, and complete the questionnaire. It takes very little time. It is essential for complying with federal audit requirements. If you have any questions about the process, please contact Rebecca Savage.
Conflict of Interest and External Professional Activity Reports for Faculty. No proposals can be processed for you if these annual reports are not completed by September 28. All faculty must complete these forms. Additionally, you must declare AHEAD OF TIME any intention to consult outside for pay. Please return the forms promptly to Rebecca Savage. Online at select.iop.org, IoP Select is a special collection of IoP journal articles, chosen by IoP Editors based on one or more of the following criteria:
* Substantial advances or significant breakthroughs
* A high degree of novelty
* Significant impact on future research
Updated on a weekly basis, IoP Select covers all areas of physics from the most fundamental to the most applied. Qualifying articles are published first in the IoP source journal and then become free for 365 days from the date they enter the Select service.
