National Science Foundation US and International Research Experience for Undergraduates in Optics, Lasers, and Optical Materials. The University of Central Florida's College of Optics and Photonics is soliciting applications for the summer 2005 REU programs in optics, both in the US and internationally. Students with strong academic backgrounds in physics, engineering, material science, math, and chemistry are encouraged to apply.
The domestic REU program is for students who have completed two semesters of physics and calculus, while the international REU program is for more senior students considering graduate careers in optics-related areas. For both programs a minimum overall GPA of 3.5 (out of 4.0) is required, and applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
Apply by January 7 online: www.optics.ucf.edu/reu/
