Department News

The Department is very proud to welcome the Fall08 graduate students.
It is at the same time the largest and the best incoming class ever. Overall, 24 Ph.D. and 2 MS students joined the program. 12 students are from the US. 14 came from abroad from 5 different countries. The largest contingent of foreign students is from China. Two of the foreign nationals are holding undergraduate degrees from the US. The students' research interests are diverse and well matched to the research in the department. A larger fraction than previously joined our program to work with specific Professors. We also welcome an exchange student from Germany into our graduate program.
